Organiser and submission terms

By submitting or claiming, you confirm that you organise the event, or that the organiser has authorised you to act for them. If that stops being true, tell us at hello@othernights.com.

We may ask for evidence of your authority before publishing or handing over a listing, and we may decline a claim we cannot verify.

You confirm that what you submit is accurate at the time you submit it.

You agree to update it, or tell us, when the date, time, venue, price, entry rules, age policy, accessibility, or cancellation status changes. A listing that is wrong is worse for you than no listing.

We may mark a listing as unverified, or unpublish it, if we cannot confirm it is current.

You confirm that your event is lawful, that it complies with the venue’s rules and any licensing requirements, and that it is restricted to adults aged 18 or over.

You are responsible for the safety, conduct, and consent arrangements at your own event. We are not the organiser and we do not supervise events.

You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the event name, organiser name, descriptions, images, and other material you supply, so that we can list, display, index, cache, translate, excerpt, and promote the listing on the site and in our own newsletters and social posts.

The licence lasts while the listing is published. You can end it by asking us to remove the listing, and we stop making new use of your material once it comes down. Anything we have already sent out is the exception. A newsletter that has reached subscribers, or a post that is already published, cannot be recalled, so those copies stay where they are and the licence still covers them. Copies held by search engines and other caches are outside our control, and removal from the site does not clear them.

You confirm that you own or control the rights in everything you supply, including images and any trade marks, and that using it as described will not infringe anyone else’s rights. If a third party makes a claim about material you supplied, tell us promptly and help us resolve it.

We may:

• edit, reformat, shorten, retitle, or translate a listing so it fits the directory’s structure;
• correct obvious errors;
• categorise it, tag it, and decide where it appears in search and in listings;
• separate what you state about your own event from what we have independently checked, and label each;
• decline to publish it;
• unpublish, restrict, or remove it; and
• set its visibility to public, link-only, or private where you ask for that.

We categorise events by what the organiser publishes. We do not label an event sex-positive, kink-friendly, or play-permitted unless the organiser says so.

We do not promise to publish anything, to publish within any time, to rank a listing in any position, to send any traffic, or to produce any bookings or sales.

Publication is editorial. It is not a service you have bought.

Where we hold contact details for you as an individual organiser, we are the controller for that information. The privacy notice explains what we do with it.

Where an event listing names an individual, that person can ask us to correct or remove it through the report page, and we may act on that request without your agreement.

We do not pass your contact details to other organisers, and we do not sell them.

Listing is free. There is no charge to submit, claim, or manage a listing.

If we introduce paid placement, it will be under separate written commercial terms, it will be clearly labelled as paid wherever it appears, and it will not change how unpaid listings are ranked without us saying so.

We may suspend or remove a listing, or an organiser account, where:

• the listing is inaccurate and not corrected;
• we cannot verify your authority;
• the event appears to be unlawful, unsafe, or not restricted to adults;
• a rights holder makes a substantiated complaint;
• the account is used to make false claims about other organisers’ listings; or
• these terms are broken.

Where it is practical and appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a route to respond. Where the risk is serious, we may act first and explain afterwards.

You can ask us to remove your listing at any time, and we can stop publishing at any time. Removal takes effect on the live site. We do not keep an archive of what a listing said before it came down, and we do not store a reason against it, so if you need either for your own records, keep your own copy.

If you disagree with a decision about your listing, write to hello@othernights.com and say what you want changed. We will review it and reply. The process is set out on the report page.

We may change these terms. Continuing to manage a listing after a change means the new version applies to you. Every version carries its own number and date at the foot of this page.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
