What happens

A life drawing class under UV light. Models are painted in UV-reactive body paint and artists sketch them, and you book one of the two roles. No prior experience is needed for either.

Monthly classes run 8pm to 10pm at The Phoenix in Cavendish Square, a pub near Oxford Circus station, with a break halfway and drinks from the bar. A WAX offer prices one model ticket plus one drawing ticket at £30.

Models: spots are limited and the role is aimed at beginners. Arrive at 7pm to be painted, by the Neon Naked team, by a friend you bring, or by yourself. Paint goes on in artistic patterns rather than splashes, with no areas of extreme nudity, and you choose your own level of comfort with nudity.

- Bring neon accessories, underwear or swimwear to match that comfort level
- A robe for between poses is recommended
- Wear old clothes you do not mind getting paint on

Poses run from 30-second movements to longer gestures of 6 and 10 minutes. You can pose for every set, or sit one out and sketch instead. Respectful behaviour is required, and inappropriate conduct means removal with no refund.

Artists: arrive by 8pm. Materials are provided, and you can bring your own neon pastels, sketchbooks or tools. You get guidance on continuous line drawing, pointillism and expressive gestures. Talking is encouraged, rude or inappropriate behaviour is not.

No photographs during the session. Afterwards there is a designated photo area and a professional photographer during the social hour, and artists can photograph their drawings at the end.

Time Out has described the painted models as living sculptures under UV light.

Tickets are non-refundable but can be gifted or exchanged for a future event at the same venue. Ask the organiser about large group bookings.
