What happens
“The class had much more in it about mindset than I expected, which was fascinating, and ultimately more useful than a few cute tricks. It helped me connect with myself and think about what I would want to bring to a striptease, not what I ‘should’. I have learnt some surprising - and ultimately empowering - things about myself. Thank you!”
Whatever you imagine stripping out of, wherever you imagine doing it and for whom, there are certain basics to consider that will ensure your performance is a huge success! Experienced striptease artist and teacher Ruth Ramsay will share the secrets of the creative prep, theory and mindset that underlies a great performance. You will then be able to apply this to your own personal style - whether you imagine dancing to Ella Fitzgerald or Eminem, Megan Thee Stallion or Metallica.
This workshop will connect you to your unique inner sexual spirit (rather than teaching 'copy-me' choreography).
The 1.5 hour workshop will include:
- An introduction to the basics of striptease
- How to choose the music, outfits and accessories that work best for you
- Basics of sensual movement
- Ruth's golden rules for a mesmerising striptease
- A feather boa routine, putting the five rules into practice
- A tipsheet for you to download
If you've ever been curious about performing a striptease this workshop is your ideal starting point!
FEEDBACK FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS:
“Bravo, what a fun 90 minutes that was! I was dancing on clouds for the rest of the day!”
“I really enjoyed the class and felt it was good value. I was pretty nervous at the beginning but watching you dance and the rest of us have a go, made me feel more confident. I like that I’ve got a nice routine with a video and music to practice to.”
There will be no removal of clothes in this workshop. Bring a feather boa, a vegan boa or a long narrow scarf to stand in for one.
All genders welcome, the class will teach a traditionally feminine movement style. The class is taught standing (there is no floorwork), and is adaptable for wheelchair users. If you are attending using a wheelchair please let Ruth know (at ruthramsay@ruthramsay.com) as she needs to inform the studio in advance. Ruth is a qualified fitness trainer and will include a warm-up and safety notes.
